Guides

Disable or reactivate a tag

Temporarily disable a Zwyn Tag or reactivate it when it should be used again.

The State page lets you control whether a Zwyn Tag is active or disabled. This is useful when a tag should temporarily stop being available without deleting it from your account.

Before you start

  • You need to be signed in as the owner of the tag.
  • The tag needs to be claimed and visible in your dashboard or My Tags page.
  • Disable a tag only when it should temporarily stop being used, such as when the physical tag is lost, damaged, attached to the wrong item, or under review.

Try tag states

Switch between Active and Disabled in the demo to understand what the state change means before changing a real tag.

Tag state example

Switch between example states to see how the tag lifecycle affects public use.

Current State

Select the lifecycle state that should apply to this tag.

Disable a tag

  1. 1 Open the tag from your dashboard or My Tags page.
  2. 2 Open the State page from the tag navigation or tag overview.
  3. 3 Select Disabled as the new tag state.
  4. 4 Save the state change.
  5. 5 After saving, the tag state is stored as Disabled.

Reactivate a tag

  1. 1 Open the disabled tag from your dashboard or My Tags page.
  2. 2 Open the State page.
  3. 3 Select Active as the new tag state.
  4. 4 Save the state change.
  5. 5 After saving, the tag state is stored as Active and the tag can be used normally again according to its access settings.

Important notes

  • Disabling a tag does not delete the tag from your account.
  • The tag configuration, profile blocks, entries, schema, and access settings remain available to the owner.
  • Access settings still define who may use the tag when it is active again.
  • Disabled tags can still appear in owner areas such as the dashboard and My Tags.

Use disabling as a pause

Disable a tag when you want to pause its use without losing the configuration. Reactivate it later when the tag should be available again.
