Tag states

Learn how a tag state controls whether a Zwyn Tag is currently available or disabled.

A tag state describes the lifecycle status of a Zwyn Tag. In V1, the most important states are Active and Disabled.

The tag state is different from access settings. Access settings decide who may view or interact with a tag. The tag state decides whether the tag itself should currently be available.

Current State

Select the lifecycle state that should apply to this tag.

Active

Active means the tag is enabled and can be used normally. Visitors can open the tag according to the configured access settings.

Disabled

Disabled means the tag is inactive and should not be used publicly. This is useful when a tag should temporarily stop being available without deleting its profile, entries, or settings.

When to disable a tag

Disable a tag if the physical QR or NFC tag is lost, damaged, or no longer attached to the right item.
Disable a tag if you want to pause public use while reviewing the profile, entries, or access settings.
Disable a tag if it should no longer be available to visitors, but you still want to keep it in your account.

Disabling is not deleting

Disabling a tag does not delete the tag from your account. It keeps the configuration available so the owner can reactivate the tag later.
