Troubleshooting

Disabled tag issues

Fix common problems when a Zwyn Tag is disabled, unavailable publicly, or needs to be reactivated.

A disabled Zwyn Tag is still connected to the owner account, but it should not behave like a normal active public tag. If a tag appears unavailable or inactive, check its state first.

The public tag page is unavailable

  • Open the tag as the owner and check whether the tag state is Disabled.
  • If the tag should be used publicly again, change the state back to Active and save the state change.
  • If the tag is already Active, check the access settings because visitors may not have permission to view the profile.
  • Check that the public tag ID in the URL is correct and was not copied incorrectly.

I disabled a tag by accident

  1. 1 Open the tag from your dashboard or My Tags page.
  2. 2 Open the State page from the tag navigation or tag overview.
  3. 3 Select Active as the new tag state.
  4. 4 Save the state change.
  5. 5 Reload the public tag page and check whether it behaves normally again.

The tag still appears in my account

  • This is expected. Disabling a tag does not remove it from the owner account.
  • The profile, schema, entries, access settings, and general settings remain available to the owner.
  • You can still review or change owner-side settings while the tag is disabled.
  • Reactivate the tag when it should be usable again.

When disabling makes sense

  • Disable a tag if the physical tag is lost and should temporarily stop being used.
  • Disable a tag if the QR or NFC tag is damaged and should not be trusted until checked.
  • Disable a tag if it is attached to the wrong item and should not show the current profile publicly.
  • Disable a tag if the profile, entries, or access settings need to be reviewed before public use continues.

Reactivating did not fix the issue

  • Make sure the state change was saved and the State page shows Active.
  • Reload the public tag page after saving the state change.
  • Check access settings if the tag is active but visitors still cannot see the profile or entries.
  • Check the profile editor if the tag opens but expected profile blocks are missing.
  • Check scanning and public tag ID issues if the QR or NFC link still opens the wrong page.

Disabled is a pause, not deletion

Disabling a tag pauses normal public use without deleting the tag or its configuration from your account.
