Every physical Zwyn Tag is connected to a public tag ID. Unclaimed tags also have a private claim code. These two values have very different purposes.

Public tag ID

The public tag ID is the visible identifier used in the QR, NFC, or public Zwyn Tag link. It tells Zwyn which public tag page should open when the tag is scanned.

• The public tag ID is allowed to be visible because it is part of the public scan link.
• It opens the public tag page, but it does not prove ownership.
• You can share a public tag link when you want someone to open the public tag page.

Claim code

The claim code is private. It is used once to prove that you are allowed to connect an unclaimed physical tag to your Zwyn account.

• The claim code should not be shared publicly.
• A claim code can only be used once.
• After the tag has been claimed successfully, the claim code is no longer useful.
